Primary Care Network (PCN) Hub

Patients can be referred to the Hub by GPs with services including: MSK Physio, Adult’s Mental Health, Children’s Mental Health, Weight Management, Health and Wellbeing, Pharmacy and Medication Reviews, Learning Disability Clinics, Social Prescribing, Complex Care, and Frailty and Ageing Well.

It will also host Cancer Screening, Early Diagnosis and Prevention; Specialist Care including Palliative, Dementia, Diabetes and Long Term Condition Management; a Chaplaincy Service; and a homelessness project that includes open drop-in clinics where homeless patients can use the hub as an address for post and have health checks and screenings. These services are based on the 1st floor of St Andrews House.

Sexual Health Services

All Contraception and Sexual Health Services are open access which means that people can use any clinics in any area.
Tameside’s Contraception and Sexual Health Service is Locala Health and Wellbeing at The Orange rooms, Ashton Primary Care Centre, 193 Old Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 7SR
 
This service offers:

  • testing and treatments of all Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) including HIV
  • all methods of contraception including implants, coils and emergency contraception
  • pregnancy testing
  • and all relevant sexual health advice.

These clinics are free and confidential and the doctors, nurses and health advisors are happy to help.
 
The Service also offers an online service for people who have no symptoms, but would like a sexual health check-up using a kit sent through the post. Kits are available to all ages. Please note that this is an STI screening service and is not meant as a substitute for a face to face visit.  

For implant removal, coil removal or any other contraception, please contact the Orange Rooms in the Ashton Primary Care Centre on 0161 507 9460.

Emotional and practical support

TMBC now has a dedicated helpline 0161 342 8355 for anyone that is struggling or needs help or for anyone to call if they are worried about someone who may be vulnerable by not having the support of family, friends or neighbours.
